About Me
Am I the right counsellor for you?
There is no one way of living, and we will all find ourselves faced with challenges along the way. Sometimes, the help of an outside source can enable us to view things in a different light or explore in more depth, which is where counselling can be beneficial.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor working in an integrative way to suit individual need. I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and a registered practitioner with the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine. I have a PG (Dip) qualification in Counselling & Psychotherapy, and I am also currently working towards a Masters in Counselling & Psychotherapy, exploring the use of Expressive Arts for chronic pain.
Alongside my person-centred training I also have an extensive background in the arts sector, using expressive arts in my counselling work when appropriate. I also have experience working within the agricultural sector and for a rape crisis centre, having gained a Level 3 qualification as a Practitioner working in the Sexual Violence Sector, alongside having training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I believe no two people are ever the same, so how can a counselling approach be? For that reason, my work is predominantly non-directive as I believe you are the expert of yourself, so the approach to therapy should be whatever feels right for you.

As I counsellor I meet people from all walks of life, and I am able to play a small role in their journey, which is something I believe to be a real privilege.
I offer a free initial 20 minute consultation, as I believe it is important for you to find a counsellor who you feel comfortable with. I believe the therapeutic relationship (the relationship between you and your therapist) to be vital, so always choose a counsellor who seems the right fit for you, and if that could possibly be me then I look forward to hearing from you.
